Efficacy of vitamins

Vitamins have great biochemical importance for they are essential for maintenance of normal metabolic function, growth and health. In latin vitamin means vital for life.
Vitamins are natural constitutents of foods, if you have a nutritional deficite, they (the vitamins) Will bring your body into homostasis. Vitamin deficency diseases such as scurvey, beri beri, prenicious anemia, and rickets are well doucumented in the medical literature.


Substances required for life in appropriate amounts are the four principals, (1) Protiens (2) Fats (3) Carbohydrates (4) Water. Oor principal micronutrients required in smaller amounts are vitamins, minerals, essential fats, essential amino acids all of these sustain life.
