Catecholamine- Naturally occuring amine functioning as a neurotransmitter or hormone,
Including dopamine, noreinephrine, and epinephrine, all are derived from Tyrosine and have a
Catechol group with an attached amine group. Neurons in the brain, in the adrenal gland, some sympathetic nerve fibers produce different Catecholamines.
Catecholamines include adrenaline, noradrenaline, and dopamine, with roles as hormones and as
Neurotransmitters.
